Background
Information Mapping Canada is seeking contract technical writers with proven Information Mapping® skills and experience in writing policy and procedure documents within the Financial Services, Banking, or Insurance industries.
Who we're looking for:
Successful candidates will have experience
- "Mapping" policy and procedure documentation by reading/analyzing/organizing source documents, of all types
- interviewing subject matter experts to clarify source documents completing task analysis with SMEs
- following formats and standards guidelines
- managing multiple and competing priorities of varying complexity
- working within a writing team, and
- meeting demanding deadlines.
'Must have' skills:
- Information Mapping skills (> 5 years)
- Policy and procedure writing experience
- Experience working with Financial Services, Banking, or Insurance
- Advanced skills in applying Information Mapping using Formatting Solutions Pro
- Knowledge of structured writing best-practices and technologies (i.e. XML, DITA)
- Strong client management skills.
'Nice to have' skills:
- Project management skills and accreditation (i.e. PMI, QMI)
- Technical knowledge in the content management space

This position is "Work from Home" and requires full-time high-speed internet access.
