Support Programs

As an Information Mapping seminar graduate, you are probably already using the Information Mapping method to improve the effectiveness of your content and communications. As you gain more practice and experience using the method you may find that you would like help developing your Mapping skills or learning to apply them to new types of communications such as web pages, business communications, or complex documentation projects.

This page provides information about some of the many ways Information Mapping Canada can help you develop and expand your Mapping skills.

Instructor-In-Residence Days

You can bring an Information Mapping Canada instructor to your location for a day of pre-scheduled one-on-one meetings with recent seminar graduates. The instructor will work individually with each participant to

  • review their work
  • provide feedback
  • answer questions, and
  • share advanced editing and writing "hints and tips."

Editing and Reporting

Information Mapping Canada's internal experts can help your team improve their documents and refine their Information Mapping skills through our Editing and Reporting program. Using e-mail and telephone, our experts work with your team to

  • discuss the audience and purpose of the document with the author
  • review and edit the document, providing both general and specific feedback, and
  • follow up with a discussion to answer questions and help improve and develop the Mapper's skills.

Project Support

Information Mapping Canada can offer any level of support you need to help make sure your Information Mapping development project is completed on time and on budget and gets the results you need.

Our experts can help you

  • analyze the audience and the purpose of the project
  • list tasks and knowledge topics
  • develop preliminary table(s) of content
  • design model documents and prototypes
  • define project standards
  • interview subject matter experts
  • conduct usability testing
  • develop some or all of the content, and
  • edit and review materials created by your internal development team.

Mapping Mentor Training

Information Mapping can help your organization develop your own internal Information Mapping Mentors to help novice Information Mappers develop and improve their skills.
